The results are in! This year, nine organizations are being honored for their innovative projects that demonstrate their environmental stewardship while promoting economic development in Pennsylvania. From advances in clean energy to community revitalization, each of this year's winners is making invaluable contributions to improving the health of Pennsylvania's natural resources.

The 2008 Governor's Award was highly competitive. It was a challenge to choose from among the best of the best. Applicants are to be commended for their efforts in putting in place projects that take on environmental problems in ways that build new businesses, enhance the bottom line and engage residents in a renewed commitment to investing in their communities.

Winners of the 2008 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence will be presented with an exclusive award and outdoor flag to acknowledge their commitment to environmental quality. Individual press events at each of the winner's locations will be held to showcase their accomplishments to the media, local community and government officials.
