Take a Hike on National Trails Day!

Where will you be on June 1st, when National Trails Day rolls around? Hopefully marking this annual event with a visit to a trail near you!

This stone arch bridge is one of the features hikers can observe along the Tusten Mountain Trail.

On the first Saturday in June, all are encouraged to get out for a trek, litterpluck a trail, paddle a waterway, ride a bike or horse, support a stewardship project and more.

Sponsored by the American Hiking Society in celebration of the nation’s trails, a series of activities are planned. Find an event near you.

For excellent information about trails in the Upper Delaware Region of NY and PA, visit www.trailkeeper.org, where you can choose from a selection of hikes in a variety of locations.

One of our favorites is the Tusten Mountain Trail in Sullivan County, NY, where hikers can ascend to an overarching view of the Delaware River nestled between mountains in two states. Stunning!
